Caring for Your Teaware

Skip the detergent
Many teapots are unglazed, high-fired clay that absorbs the scent of detergent. A rinse with hot water is all they need.
Empty used leaves promptly
Leaving spent leaves in the pot can cause mould and odours. Remove them as soon as you finish.
Dry thoroughly
Take off the lid and let it dry somewhere airy. Stand your chasen on its holder to dry in the shade.
For tea stains
Soak in lukewarm water with a little baking soda to lift stains gently.
